This month, we are delighted to chat with the sublime surfer Victoria Vergara. Professional longboarder and model, she lives life in the fast lane and takes you into her sunny world. Discover her best addresses as well as her beauty and well-being tips for a dream summer!
How long have you been surfing?
I started surfing at the age of 4 on my dad's bodyboard and longboarding at the age of 14.
What fascinates you about surfing?
Being able to dance on the waves, being in the ocean and just playing with the waves.
What are your beach essentials?
A surfboard, my beach basket including: a total sunscreen for the face, my water bottle, a GoPro, a pareo, two bikinis (one for tanning and one for surfing), a tanning oil with an SPF, my book of the moment and speakers. My girlfriends and a parasol.
Your eco-responsible actions to take care of the planet?
I have been a vegetarian since 2020, I sort my waste, I use eco-responsible beauty products and washable cotton pads to remove my makeup. I shop at the greengrocer and buy organic, made in France as much as possible. I no longer buy single-use plastic packaging. I take my bike or skateboard as often as possible instead of my car. I buy vintage as much as possible and pay attention to the manufacturing of the products. I travel with a metal straw, my water bottle and my coffee mug. I turn off my electronic devices when I am not using them. I take showers and not baths and pay attention to the water when I brush my teeth or do the dishes. As soon as I go surfing, I pick up a handful of trash that I find on the beach... Don't hesitate to relay important information on my social networks, participate in humanitarian actions, make donations to associations and sign petitions...
Your favorite places between Hossegor and Hawaii?
In Hossegor, Hotel 202 for its brunch, massages and sauna, as well as the Vintage Blue Madone shop in the city center. Lulas, my favorite Mexican restaurant on Main Street in Santa Monica, Los Angeles, which is an inevitable stop when I go to Hawaii and in Hawaii, the North Shore on the island of Oahu, for its beautiful beaches and waves.
What are your wellness tips for living life in the fast lane?
Do a yoga session as soon as you wake up; no matter how long it lasts, moving your body always feels good, and have a good breakfast!
D+ for care, what does that mean to you?
THE must have in our beauty routine!
What is your relationship with food supplements and how has D+ for care revolutionized it?
As a professional athlete and model, food supplements have long been part of my routine. I use them as treatments or boosters. D+ for care has revolutionized my beauty treatments, it's ALL in 1.
Between us… Do you recommend D+ for care to your girlfriends or is it your best kept beauty secret?
I recommend it to my friends, so that they too can shine of course!
Your flagship beauty products?
La Mer Regenerating Oil, Jade Roller, Guerlain Terracotta, Lancôme Hypnose Mascara, Dior Lip Maximizer Gloss and Moroccanoil Treatment Oil.
Your favorite beauty tips?
Go to bed early, drink lots of water, clay masks with a drop of essential oil depending on my skin's needs and Brazilian massages to lose one or two waist sizes in 30 minutes and drain my body.
What is your vision of beauty?
That beauty also comes from within, a beautiful person is someone with a big heart. And that there is nothing more beautiful than natural. :)
Your fashion and beauty icons?
Elle Macpherson, Cindy Crawford and Victoria Beckham.
What makes you feel beautiful?
The look of my lover, it makes me look like a duck I know haha. A nice outfit or a nice swimsuit that shows me off. The simple fact of having the time to take care of yourself. A little piece of advice that I was given and that greatly helped me to gain confidence in myself is when you find yourself in front of the mirror; to look at the positive, look at what you like about yourself and stop focusing on the negative or the things you would like to change about yourself. And tell yourself that you are pretty :) It may seem corny, but try it and your view of yourself will greatly change, I promise!
Which category of D+ for care women do you identify with?
The natural and life-centric woman: taking care of myself starting from the inside, the best of nature to have the best of me.
What is your mantra to keep smiling no matter what happens in your life?
Positive Attitude, Always!
And finally… “Less is more” or “More the better”?
Less is more.
