Can you describe the style of your brand Meryl Suissa?
With a sober, refined and minimalist line, we take the complexity out of traditional weddings to adapt to society and new customs! The brand goes beyond the big day to satisfy the bride and groom but also their entourage, in a relaxed, warm and humorous atmosphere.
How would you define the spirit of the Meryl Suissa woman?
A free, uninhibited woman, in tune with her body and her mind. She knows herself perfectly and does not seek to please anyone except herself and her future husband!
What key creations can we find in your collections?
Above all, our pantsuits and especially the Flemington & Salem look... Which has become iconic within our house. Let's not forget our short or asymmetrical skater dresses, which are repeated throughout the collections and which our brides love.
How did you get started on your entrepreneurial adventure?
With a lot of lightness and naivety at only 22 years old. I was lucky to simply need fabric, a sewing machine and my hands to start the adventure... Then the road has been long for 10 years but I do not regret anything. Still many projects, adventures, failures and obstacles but this is what makes me vibrate every day. With the love of my brides of course!
Why did you choose to work in the world of weddings?
My first internships were in a fashion house specializing in wedding dresses. I immediately fell in love with the materials, the lace, all that white and this incredible know-how. I quickly realized that there was also a lot to do in terms of style. 10 years ago, wedding codes were already starting to evolve and women no longer necessarily recognized themselves in "traditional" dresses.
Classic or funky wedding?
Funky, while keeping some more classic codes :)
Summer or winter wedding?
Winter! I think there are still too few of them. It's a shame because they have a crazy charm!
Your little word to future brides and grooms whose wedding has been delayed by covid?
It's a disappointment and a reorganization but always know how to put things into perspective and bounce back. As long as love is still there that's what matters after all!
What are your wellness tips for having a peaceful wedding?
It's above all a state of mind! You have to be able to unwind a few days before, take the time to prepare and above all tell yourself that it will only be happiness and especially that you can't please everyone. Be careful not to miss the big day because of the stress and its "Control freak" side.
D+ for care, what does that mean to you?
Freshness, vitality and radiance!
What is your relationship with food supplements and how has D+ for care revolutionized it?
I've never been the one who took great care of her skin on a daily basis to be honest. Absolutely not the one who tested dozens of creams or left charcoal masks or other on for hours... Makeup removal, moisturizer and that's it! Before DAY+, I tested a supplement that was quite attractive in terms of marketing but I didn't see any difference on my skin and the "tablet or capsule" format to swallow with a rather unpleasant smell wasn't very sexy... I didn't finish the treatment. I've been using DAY+ for 3 months now and I've never had so many compliments on my skin and complexion. Even if it's harder to take a step back from yourself, I must admit that as soon as I wake up I have a pretty healthy glow and plumped skin. What's interesting is that it's a real pleasure to open your fridge in the morning and drink your little stick which has a sweet taste that I love! It wasn't a given and I was surprised myself but DAY+ charmed me! I'm starting ALOHA today by the way :)
Between us… Do you recommend D+ for care to your girlfriends or is it your best kept beauty secret?
I love discovering new products and it's quite rare that I stay loyal so I recommend it and tell everyone about it :)
Your favorite addresses?
Any place where you can watch a beautiful sunset with a glass of rosé.
Where do you find your inspiration for your creations?
I always thought that inspiration had to come mostly from an education, a generation. My grandfather's tailored double-breasted suits, my mother's midi skirts, the big gold earrings from the 80s... It's a mix of so many things. I've always loved fashion while not being a real "fashionista" in everyday life.
The essential fashion pieces in your wardrobe?
My Levis jeans, my white shirts, my black Yves Saint-Laurent tuxedo and my Bottega Veneta clutches :)
Your favorite iconic piece that you will keep for life?
My black Yves Saint-Laurent tuxedo that my parents gave me for my 25th birthday.
What to wear when you are invited to a wedding in September?
A simple little black dress with a pretty backless design or a nice pants and shirt set.
Your favorite beauty tips to look your best on the big day?
As natural as possible. Never change your habits, try new things or seek to transform yourself.
Your fashion and beauty icons/inspirations?
A Beyoncé for charisma, talent and beauty. A real inspiration for several generations. The natural beauty and sensuality of a Scarlett Johanson. The naturalness of a Jane Birkin.
What makes you feel beautiful?
When I have a good day, when I feel like I've accomplished something and when I'm in love!
Which category of D+ for care women do you identify with?
The woman on the go: the gesture is effective, the stick can be taken anywhere. The “Freedom Freak”: mixing freedom, festivities, nonchalance.
What is your mantra to stay motivated no matter what happens in your life as an entrepreneur?
"Nothing serious, it's just fabric after all."
