Can you describe the style of your brand Meryl Suissa?
With a sober, refined and minimalist line, the traditional wedding is decomplexed to adapt to society and new mores! The brand goes beyond the D-day to satisfy the bride and groom, but also their entourage, in a relaxed, warm and humorous atmosphere.
How would you define the spirit of the Meryl Suissa woman?
A free woman, uninhibited, in tune with her body and her mind. She knows herself perfectly and doesn't want to please anyone but herself and her future husband!
What are some of the highlights of your collections?
More than anything, our trouser suits and especially the Flemington & Salem look... Which has become emblematic within our house. Let's not forget our short or asymmetrical skater dresses, which are renewed throughout the collections and which our brides love.
How did you get into entrepreneurship?
With a lot of lightness and naivety at only 22 years old. I was lucky enough to just need fabric, a sewing machine and my hands to start the adventure... It's been a long road over the last 10 years but I have no regrets. I still have many projects, adventures, failures and obstacles but this is what makes me vibrate every day. With the love of my brides of course!
Why did you choose to evolve in the world of weddings?
My first internships were in a fashion house specialising in wedding dresses. I immediately fell in love with the materials, the laces, all that white and the incredible know-how. I quickly realised that there was also a lot to do in terms of style. Ten years ago, wedding codes were already beginning to evolve and women didn't necessarily recognize themselves in "traditional" dresses.
Are you looking for a classic or funky wedding?
Funky, while keeping some codes a bit more classic :)
Summer or winter wedding?
Winter! I think there are still too few of them. It's a pity because they have a great charm!
A word to the bride and groom who have had their wedding delayed by covid?
It's a disappointment and a reorganisation but always know how to put things into perspective and bounce back. As long as love is still there that's what counts after all!
What are your tips for living your wedding with peace of mind?
It is above all a state of mind! You have to be able to relax a few days beforehand, take the time to prepare yourself and above all tell yourself that it will only be a pleasure and above all that you can't please everyone. Be careful not to miss out on the big day because of stress and the "control freak" aspect.
D+ for care, what does that entail to you?
Freshness, vitality and radiance!
What is your relationship with food supplements and how has D+ for care revolutionised it?
I've never been the one to take great care of my skin on a daily basis to be honest. Absolutely not the one who tested dozens of creams or who let charcoal masks or anything else sit for hours... Makeup removal, moisturizer and that's it! Before DAY+, I tested a supplement that was quite attractive in terms of marketing but I didn't see any difference on my skin and the "pill" format to swallow with a rather unpleasant smell was not very sexy... I did not finish the treatment. I have been using DAY+ for 3 months now and I have never had so many compliments on my skin and my complexion. Even though it's more difficult to look at myself, I have to admit that as soon as I wake up I look pretty good and my skin is plumped up. What's interesting is that it's a real pleasure to open the fridge in the morning and drink the little stick that has a sweet taste that I love! It wasn't easy and I was surprised myself but DAY+ charmed me! I'm starting ALOHA today by the way :)
Just between us... Do you recommend D+ for care to your friends or is it your best kept beauty secret?
I love discovering new products and it's quite rare that I stay loyal so I recommend it and tell everyone about it :)
Your favourite addresses?
All the places where you can watch a beautiful sunset with a glass of rosé.
Where do you find your inspiration for your creations?
I've always thought that inspiration should come from an upbringing, a generation. My grandfather's tailored double-breasted suits, my mother's midi skirts, the big golden soundtracks of the 80s... It's a mixture of so many things. I've always loved fashion but I'm not a real fashionista in everyday life.
What are the must-have fashion pieces in your wardrobe?
My Levis jeans, my white shirts, my black Yves Saint-Laurent dinner jacket and my Bottega Veneta clutches :)
Your favourite iconic piece that you will keep for life?
My black Yves Saint-Laurent dinner jacket that my parents gave me for my 25th birthday.
What to wear when invited to a wedding in September?
A simple little black dress with a nice halter top or a nice pair of trousers and shirt.
What are your favourite beauty routines to look your best on D-Day?
As natural as possible. Never change your habits, try new things or try to transform yourself.
Your fashion and beauty icons/inspirations?
A Beyoncé for charisma, talent and beauty. A true inspiration for several generations. The natural beauty and sensuality of a Scarlett Johanson. The naturalness of a Jane Birkin.
What makes you feel beautiful?
When I'm having a good day, when I feel like I've accomplished something and when I'm in love!
In which D+ for care women do you recognize yourself?
The woman on the go: the gesture is effective, the stick can be taken everywhere. The "Freedom Freak": combining freedom, festivities and nonchalance.
What is your mantra for staying motivated no matter what happens in your entrepreneurial life?
"Nothing serious, it's only fabric after all".
